What do you know – or think you know – about the Power of Positive Attraction?

I’m a bit of a skeptic, myself. I’m not well read on the topic, but I do know that when I have my clients design intentions for their life and work, and they write it in the present tense, as though it’s already happened… magic seems to occur.

What they say they want to have happen…. Happens!

Most coaches don’t allow their clients to work with them for less than a year. I started with nine month offers, then reduced them to six… and now I offer a four month intensive to start.. and I still have my clients design intentions that are intended to come true over the course of a year.

And you know what? When we do our evaluation after a mere four months, OFTEN, they have already achieved what they set out to achieve, in just FOUR SHORT MONTHS.

I believe in intention setting, in articulating what you want as though it has already happened, and in voicing your dreams and goals… and then watching them come true.

Seriously. Read that again.

Watching. Them. Come. True.

Miraculous? Maybe. Pie in the Sky? Definitely. Accurate? Most definitely.

I’ve witnessed it time and time again in the many years that I’ve been coaching, and in my personal life before that. 

If you can dream it, you can do it.

Tonight I hosted a Reconnect for the Align Retreat attendees. We gathered… virtually this time… to reiterate what we said we wanted after spending three days and three nights together in the beautiful, majestic space of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Canmore, Alberta – and reiterated those intentions.

Not surprisingly, there was a mix of reactions.

Some people had already gone for their goals and are making important strides in realizing their intentions in record time.

Others returned home after the magical experience and crumpled into a debilitating heap on the floor and are not sure how to get out of it.

Still others are tentatively putting their proverbial toe in the space of making their dreams come true and needed our collective support and wisdom to empower them to believe in themselves… and their potential future again.

I’m also seeing the power of intention-setting play out in a real way in my own life and work.

Everytime I turn around these days there’s another intention manifesting before my eyes.

I will be able to share more details in the coming weeks and months, but SO MUCH of what I dreamed of, and laid down intentions for, are coming true.

For my family, for my work and for me.

And I marvel at it.

I believe in the power of intention-setting. Do you?

Here are some ways you can use the power of intention-setting and positive attraction in your life and work as well:

        1. Clarify Your Desires.
          Clearly identify what you want to attract into your life. Be specific and focus on what you truly desire. Write down your goals and intentions, as this helps to clarify your thoughts. I like to use the present tense. What does it feel like to have your dreams voiced as though they are already true? Here’s a few examples:
          – I am so grateful for the business I have created that regularly delivers me clients I enjoy serving and who appreciate my work.
          – I am enjoying a healthy lifestyle where I enjoy being active outside everyday
          – I am embracing a location independent lifestyle where I can work from anywhere.
        2. Visualize Your Desired Outcomes.
          Imagine yourself already experiencing the things you want. Create vivid mental images and immerse yourself in the positive emotions associated with achieving those goals. Visualization helps to align your thoughts and emotions with your desired outcomes. This visualization also comes with expressing your intentions as though they are already true. Deepak Chopra’s daughter, Mallika, wrote a book about Intention-setting that I often refer my clients to. It’s called: Living with Intent and the acronym she has created out of INTENT means: Incubate. Notice. Trust. Express. Nurture and Take Action. It’s really important to express your intention clearly and to nurture it – like watering and fertilizing a seed – until it blossoms into the beautiful flower you envisioned for yourself.
        3. Practice Positive Affirmations.
          Use positive affirmations to reinforce your beliefs and shift your mindset. Repeat affirmations that resonate with you, such as “I am worthy of success and happiness” or “I attract positive opportunities into my life.” Affirmations help to reprogram your subconscious mind and enhance your positive energy.
        4. Cultivate Gratitude.
          Practice gratitude for what you already have in your life. Appreciating the present moment and expressing gratitude for the blessings you’ve received helps to attract more positive experiences. Consider keeping a gratitude journal or regularly reflecting on the things you’re grateful for.
        5. Surround Yourself with Positivity.
          Surround yourself with positive people, environments, and influences. Engage in activities that uplift and inspire you. Limit exposure to negativity, whether it’s negative news, toxic relationships, or self-doubt. Positivity breeds positivity, so choose your surroundings wisely. You don’t have to keep people or situations in your life who you don’t enjoy. If they’re a hardship, minimize your interaction with them!
        6. Take Inspired Action.
          Positive attraction alone is not enough; you need to take action towards your goals. Take small steps aligned with your desires and trust the process. This shows the universe or the world that you are committed to your aspirations and opens doors for opportunities.As it’s been said by Martin Luther King Jr:

          “You don’t have to see the whole staircase to take the first step.”

        7. Trust and Let Go.Trust that the universe or a higher power is working in your favor. Release any attachment to the outcome and have faith that things will unfold in the best way possible. Letting go of control allows space for positive opportunities to manifest. Additionally, when you express your intention of what you want to experience clearly, new solutions may arise and the path to your desires may not be what you initially imagined it to be.

Remember that the power of positive attraction is not a guarantee of immediate results or the absence of challenges. It is a mindset and a way of living that can help you navigate life with a more positive outlook, attract opportunities, and take proactive steps towards your goals.

Take it from me. If you dream it, you can do it.

Now, visualize your goals, turn them into intentions with feeling and meaning… and GO AFTER THEM! You can do it.
