Building The Life Of Your Dreams Just Like A Six-Year-Old

Sometimes I think I’d like to start a movement that’s All About Me.

And when I say Me. I don’t mean Me. I mean YOU.

Do you remember when you were six? You were probably in Kindergarten or Grade One. And you had to do a project about yourself.

Both my daughters have now come home from school with this assignment – at the age of six. They have had to make a presentation about themselves – about what they like to do, who their family is, who their friends are, and who they dream to be when they grow up.

They each absolutely loved this presentation.

They got to talk about all the things they loved to do, the places they’d been and their favourite people in the world.

They got to talk about their accomplishments and what they are most proud of. And guess what? They weren’t shy to tell people either. They were excited!

And proud.

They shone.

They smiled.

They were six.

And so pleased with themselves and all of who they were – and are.
Then again, about Junior High, they have to do another presentation, about what they want to be when they grow up.

And then – guess what. People stop asking.

When’s the last time you were asked what you wanted to do when you grew up, or what you love to do, or who you dream to be?

Well, I’m asking now.

What do you love to do?
What do you dream of doing in the future?
Are you leading the life you thought you would lead?
Or is it time for a self-correction?

I have asked all of my clients what they dream of and almost all of them had to stop, think, and then answered with a tear in their eye – tears mean truth.

And they were telling me the truth that they almost not dared think about – the truth of what it means to be them – you.

What it means to be you.

And then they told me a little of the deepest desires of their hearts… a trip around the world… starting a business as a painter… investing in the invention they created in their garage years ago… starting a family…

Whatever the dream was, they had, for some reason or another, convinced themselves that it wasn’t possible.

Well, I’m here to tell you that it is possible.

It is possible to have what you want and to build the life of your dreams.

Tell me yours! What do you dream of doing/being/having?

I’d love to hear from you. Comment below and tell me what you dream to do/be/have.

Better yet, let’s make a plan to make it happen! I believe whatever you want is just around the corner, waiting for you to seize the day. I can show you how.
